Coach Heckel was the first head coach in Zeeland West's history. He was the head coach of Zeeland High School starting in 1997 until the split into Zeeland East and Zeeland West. Coach Heckel began coaching in 1994 at West Ottawa High School. 

Coach Stewart is the second head coach in the history of the Zeeland West Wrestling program. He has led the Dux wrestling team since the 2019-2020 season. Before stepping into the head coach role, he served as the JV coach under Coach Heckel for one season, gaining valuable experience before taking charge of the program. Prior to the 2018-2019 season as the JV wrestling coach, he was the varsity assistant coach at Holland High School from 2011 to 2018.
