Congrats to Aiden Chavez for earning MHSAA All-State honors! He placed 8th at Ford Field and finished the season with a 32-8 record. Aiden’s work ethic, dedication, and leadership have set a strong example for his team. From early mornings to late nights, he’s shown what it takes to succeed. Emmaline Kouw’s wrestling season ended after a 9-0 loss in the blood rounds, just one match short of earning All-State honors. Despite this, she made history as the first girl to win the OK Conference Championship, become a Regional qualifier, and qualify for the State tournament in the program’s history. She finished the season with a 24-14 record. On top of her success on the mat this season Emmaline also made the academic all state team! While Justin Sanchez’s journey ended in the blood round, his senior season will always be remembered for his incredible dedication, relentless work ethic, and leadership both on and off the mat. The girls hit the mats today at Portage Northern for their individual regionals! Huge shoutout to Madi Galaviz, who wrapped up her season with an 18-14 record and a regional qualification—what an incredible journey! 

A special congratulations to Emmaline Kouw, who placed 3rd and avenged a few early-season losses!  Emmaline is now the FIRST girl in Zeeland West history to qualify for the state finals, and she’ll be heading to Ford Field in two weeks to compete at the highest level! The Dux went to Allendale today for individual districts. Today was full of emotions for many wrestlers. Some experience the highs of victory and others feel the pain of defeat as their seasons come to an end. Advancing to next week's regional at Cadillac are Aiden Chavez (2nd place) and Justin Sanchez (3rd place). Today the Girls went to Hastings for the first-ever MHSAA Individual Districts. Both Madi Galaviz and Emmaline Kouw took 4th place and will advance to next week's individual regionals at Portage Northern! #godux @duxsports_

The Dux went across the PATH to visit our neighbors over at Zeeland East for the first round of Team Districts. The Dux fell to the Chix 63-12. Winning matches on the night was Nolan Overway at 215, Sam Taylor at 126, and Austin Ulberg at 132.  #godux @duxsports_

Tonight the Varsity Dux took to the mat down in Hamilton for the OK Black conference tournament! Aiden Chavez, Justin Sanchez, and Austin Ulberg - 1st place, Nolan Overway - 3rd place, Greyson Thut and Luke Walters - 4th place.

The girls were able to compete in Belding for the OK girl's conference championship. Madi Galaviz and Emmaline Kouw - 1st place

Big shoutout to our Dux wrestlers for their hard work and determination this weekend at the Shepherd John Harris Invitational. Aiden Chavez - 2nd place, Justin Sanchez - 3rd place, Sam Taylor - 6th place, and Austin Ulberg - 5th place 

Though Laker Kragt, Jackson Burkhour, and Pablo Burgos came up just short of making the blood round, we’re incredibly proud of their effort! As a team, we finished 8th out of 19 teams — a solid performance and a huge step forward as we prepare for the final week of the regular season!

At Senior Night tonight, the Dux hosted the Chix of Zeeland East and the Wolves of Wyoming. The Dux fell to the Chix, 51- 21, but bounced back to defeat Wyoming, 48-35. Going undefeated on the night were Sam Taylor, Austin Ulberg, Daniel Lozano, Taylor Shoemaker, and Aiden Chavez. Going 1-1 were Luke Walters, Jackson Burkhour, and Greyson Thut.

Next up: The JV team heads to Reed City Friday evening, the varsity team travels to Williamston for the Jim Mooney Invitational, and on Saturday, the girls head to Kalamazoo Central for the Ron Russo Classic.

The Dux placed 4th today after going 3-2 at the Holland Tim Horn invite. The Dux team defeated Hanover Horton 45-24, Forest Hills Eastern 66-6, and Kenowa Hills 45-34. The Dux fell to eventual champions Allegan 54-21 and West Ottawa in the championship round 50-30. Going undefeated in the day was Aiden Chavez and Sam Taylor. Going 4-1 was Austin Ulberg and Justin Sanchez. Going 3-2 was Daniel Lozano and Camden Stryker. 

Over at Northview the girls faced off against some of the best girls in the state! Emmaline Kouw and Rozlyn Altamira placed 4th, while Madi went 2-2 and fell of short of placing. The Dux return to action on Wednesday at home for senior night against Zeeland East and Wyoming! #godux @duxsports_

Tonight the Dux faced off with Unity Christian and West Catholic the Dux defeated Unity Christian 57-24 and then defeated West Catholic 60-24. Going undefeated on the night was Madi Galaviz, Aiden Chavez, Justin Sanchez, Sam Taylor, Austin Ulberg, Luke Walters, Jackson Burkhour, Jovan Compean, Lachlan Thoreson, and Emmaline Kouw. On JV going undefeated was Gahel Segovia, Owen Hicks, and Nate Chavez.

The JV Dux heads to Holland on Friday for a JV invitational. On Saturday the girls head to Grand Rapids Northview Girls invite, and the varsity goes to Holland for the Tim Horn invite. #godux 

It was a full day of action for the Dux Wrestling program across multiple tournaments! A heartfelt thank-you to all the parents and coaches who make these opportunities possible for our student-athletes.

• Varsity: Competing at the Hudsonville Invite, the varsity team finished 1-4 overall. The Dux fought hard but came up short against Byron Center (65-18), Reeths Puffer (55-21), Hudsonville (64-8), and Cedar Springs (69-10). They capped off the day with a strong win over Comstock Park (39-23). Individual standouts included Aiden Chavez, who went undefeated, and Austin Ulberg, who finished an impressive 4-1.

• Girls Team: At the Adam H. Provencal Memorial in Grand Haven, Emmaline Kouw showcased her determination, battling through a tough bracket to earn a well-deserved 6th place.

• JV Team: At the EK JV Invite in East Kentwood, Laker Kragt and Dante Wass went undefeated to claim 1st place. Runner-up honors were earned by Jaxon Hammond, Greyson Thut, Levi DeJonge, and Nolan Overway.

The Dux are back on the mat this Wednesday at West Catholic, taking on Unity Christian in round one and West Catholic in round two. Let’s keep building on this momentum—#GoDux!

At Montague today, Madi and Emma gave it their all but fell just short in the blood round, finishing one match shy of placing top 6 in a highly competitive individual tournament. The event featured 58 teams, including numerous individually ranked wrestlers and 5 of the top 10 girls' teams in the state. Next Saturday, the varsity team competes at the Hudsonville Invite, the girls head to Grand Haven for the Adam Provincial Memorial, and the JV team takes on East Kentwood. Today the Dux girls wrestlers traveled to Niles Brandywine for the 1st annual Bobcat Invitational. The girls placed 12th out of 21 teams today with only three wrestlers! Madi Galaviz was the 105 runner-up, Rozlyn Altamira placed 6th at 170, and Emmaline Kouw was the champion at 120! Way to go ladies! #godux @duxsports_

Tonight the Dux hosted #7 Hamilton and Wayland Union. The Dux battled tonight and fell in the first round to Hamilton 59-23. In the second round, the Dux fell to Wayland 63-14. Going 2-0 on the night was Aiden Chavez, Sam Taylor, and Austin Ulberg. Going 1-1 on the night was JoDee Sek. 

On JV going undefeated on the night were Madi Galaviz, Jaxon Hammond, Christian Neuenfeldt, Camden Stryker, and Gahel Segovia. Going 1-1 was Dayton Sneller, Owen Hicks, and Daniel Lozano. Going 2-0 on the night was JoDee Sek, Aiden Chavez, Justin Sanchez, Sam Taylor, and Austin Ulberg. Going 1-1 was Landen Oberst and Matthew Koedyker.

On JV going undefeated was Jaxon Hammond, Greyson Thut, Asher Holwerda, Owen Hicks, Luke Walters, and Madi Galaviz. Going 1-1 was Dayton Sneller and Christian Neuenfeldt. The JV team heads to Grand Haven for the JV Ottawa County Championship. The Varsity team wrestles at Allendale on Saturday for the 4th Annual Ottawa County Championship. #godux @duxsports_ 

Today the Dux took 7th place in the Gene Kraai Memorial Invitational starting the season off 1-3 after falling to West Ottawa, South Haven, and Wayland before defeating Watervilet. Going undefeated today was Justin Sanchez. Going 2-2 on the day were Austin Ulberg, Sam Taylor, and Jodee Sek. Going 1-0 was Madi Galaviz and Brayden Compagner. We are grateful for the opportunity to wrestle and represent Zeeland in the memory of Gene Kraai today.
